How to Make a Rubbish Game

This is fascinating, dropped on my inbox just now.

Basically, some guy has found a blog of a gentleman who used to be a significant part of the development of Cocking Borefest Game Tie-in of a Movie that is Based on a Game Street Fighter: The Movie.

For those of you who haven't played it, Street Fighter: The Movie changed from being an awesome beat-em-up to an overly hard (but rather gorgeous looking) Mortal Kombat esque fighter, using characters from the game.

anyway, if you're bored and want to read the whole story (like me!), or just want to see pictures of Kylie in a Cammy suit, then visit the link below:-

Did anybody play it? I used to slag off this game despite never playing it, I played it and thought it was a bit terrible, but all not that bad. Though the home versions were apparently a lot worse.

I was never a big fan of Street Fighter but I know a lot of people were. I did play it quite a bit because sometimes it was the lesser of 2 or 3 evils.

It did seem pioneering in a way as one of the best games for early PvP fighting. There had been a karate game before this that sort of invented the genre. That would be "Karate Champ". If it hadn't been for Karate Champ, there would be no "Street Fighter". The appeal lay in pseudo-magical moves and secret joystick combinations.

I agree it was a bit of a crap game, but it did hold a huge piece of the market and was favored amongst many 12 year olds.

Don't get me wrong. I love Street Fighter 2, but the game that came out afterwards - the movie game - was officially terrible and generally considered to be the series' worst incarnation (which I don't understand really, as there is one worse, more on that soon). Nice to read about a fan who worked on the project, but was seemingly over-ruled at every given opportunity.

Oh, I didn't realize that a game was made from the movie.

    Oh wow. Shadaloo huh?

It appears they took a few digital images and then tried to animate the combat based on that. The original game looks better than this.

When you have 1 on 1 style-combat, building a corny plot around it makes little sense.
