Released in the early 1980's, this was a unison between Acord and the BBC Computer Project, who's aim was twofold. The first thing they wanted is for improved literacy and numeracy for every school kid in the UK. A noble cause, and part of the charm of this system was probably the educational games from this system - nobally led by Granny's Garden, Flowers of Crystal and Dragon World. Surprisingly, whether it is nostalgia or whether it is the beauty of playing video games in school, these games are still in production today, over 20 years since the computer was discontinued.
The other goal of the BBC Computer Project was to help people learn how to programme. Unfortunately, the best we learnt was 10 PRINT "HELLO" 20 GOTO 10 routines, but thankfully some of the biggest games of the era, including Elite, Exile and Repton. As these are all the best versions of classic games, this makes the BBC Micro a must for any serious collector.
