1982 saw the release of Galaga,the sequel to Galaxians. Although very similar to it's predecessor, Galaga managed to provide a sizeable update to the game. It saw the introduction of bosses to the franchise - enemies that can capture your ship with a tractor beam. Releasing the ship saw you have a squadron of two to take down the aliens.
Still love today, Galaga is one of Namco's most recognisable franchises.
