Replica model arcade cabinet of Tempest, a tube shoot em up released by Atari in 1982.
One of the most fondly remembered games ever, Tempest is another vector shoot-em-up, but unlike many others, this was a tube shooter, where the action comes towards you from the inside of the screen out, rather than from the top of the screen.
Tempest featured 17 levels of shoot em up action, and had some fast gameplay for the time. A tricky little beggar, Tempest saw only one goal - get a high score.
Instantly recognisable, Tempest has been referenced in a number of modern TV shows, as well as having a brilliant sequel: Tempest 2000.
